 Effective use of Educational Technology for Enhancing teaching, learning and engagement with community.
 We aim to develop the educational process at KFU, by creating an integrated learning environment, in which we employ latest technologies and well-management that corresponded to KFU policies. Our mission is dedicated to enhance the skills of KFU faculty members and students by equipping them with internationally distinguished latest technologies.
- There is an increasing demand for adopting e-learning in academic institutions around the globe , The goal of establishing E-learning and Distance Education Deanship stems from the importance of integrating technology with the educational system at KFU. Another aim is to enhance the educational services as well as the quality of the education by keeping pace with latest technological equipments which helps to enhance the reputation of KFU.
- Also, the deanship was established to make a successful accessible education for all segments of the society, especially those learners who can't attend On-ground classes.
- In addition, it was founded to absorb the increasing numbers of junior students inside and outside the kingdom, in general, and the university in specific; the deanship gives an equal chance for everyone.
- The Deanship is mainly responsible for all issues related to e-learning resource materials and support systems at KFU. It provides the necessary and needed training workshops, communication tools, interaction strategies, for both faculty members and students. Also, it provides virtual classroom systems for synchronous collaboration, e-content authoring, management, and class recording for asynchronous learning with technical support. Above all , the Learning Management System integrates all these systems in one full reliable flexible environment.

It is related to the future and social security of our country. Now, using technology in education is a must and a priority for almost all the universities around the globe. Therefore ,The deanship focuses on providing e-learning technologies to faculty, students and management in order to achieve a high quality education.

The Deanship's main objectives include - but not limited to- the following; it aims to:
- create and disseminate knowledge through a robust educational technology infrastructure.
- get access to all educational and technological resources, other support systems, and locations that meet with the needs and demands of KFU students and faculty staff.
- make the education process available without spatial and temporal limits .
- help staff to share schemes of work, lesson plans and other resources among themselves and to have all teaching materials accessible on demand.
- increase learner engagement and interaction with reduced training costs.
- support the faculty with the right tools for learning management, assessments, and research.
- encourage, and raise the awareness of KFU staff with the use of e-learning in teaching and learning.
- increase the amount and quality of educational resources available at the university.
- provide an environment for learners, where all resource materials and support are available.
- enable international students to register at King Faisal University as off-campus student .
- help staff and students to communicate effectively.
- shift our culture towards more flexible educational system.
- support the university to create distance learning programs and associated courses which serve students regionally, nationally, and internationally.
- introduce e-learning and increase the cultural awareness of e-learning in our international community in general; and our society in specific.
- plan and make distinctive programs and educational curricula development with the highly appreciated cooperation of KFU academic departments.

- The deanships programs and services mainly target three main groups;
- Students, who form the cornerstones of our society and increase the university's quality and reputation. The deanship provides this group with access to the e-learning materials through the e-learning systems. It also provides the educational services , with the cooperation of the KFU academic departments , to the off-campus or distant learning students.
- Faculty members, the one who feeds our students with knowledge, experience and characteristics of independency and professionality. The deanship provides this group with all technical support, training workshops, and facilities to develop their e-contents.
- Local Society, it is one of the university's targeted groups. The university plays an important role in its society by providing workshops, social programs, consultation.etc. The deanship offers the technological dimensions to all these social services.

The eLearning Deanship is concerned with the all matters of e-Learning inside KFU. This includes building up the infrastructure, providing the electronic learning resources and brand name learning systems, as well as giving the needed training to utilize these systems. The deanship is also concerned with integrating the interactive synchronic learning systems that provide direct interaction among students and their instructors. The development of content, the integrations of advanced systems for lectures capturing, and the provision of these facilities to the remote students are some of the services that eLearning deanship offers. Others services include the following:
- broadcasting and boosting the culture of eLearning within KFU.
- achieving the strategic goals of KFU regarding eLearning. This includes the preparation of appropriate evaluations of the deanship's activities .
- Organizing and administering specialized workshops for the staff, faculty members and students of KFU, in the ways that achieve the deanship's mission.
- Strategically planning for developing the activities and services provided by the deanship with respect to the international standards.
- Putting the executive plans and following them up in coordination with concerned parties in KFU.
- Developing the tools and the mechanisms needed for data gathering and analysis. The gathered data are used in the evaluation of the deanship's activities and for supporting the scientific and academic experience.
 Our future aspirations can be summarized in making KFU a lighthouse for delivering eLearning services. We aspire to initiate and develop many of the projects supporting eLearning inside and outside the university. The following points highlight some of aspirations:

- Communicating and collaborating with the local and international communities in the field of eLearning.
- Increasing the enrollment rate at KFU, using the available infrastructure.
- Delivering not only eLearning but also consultations.
- Collaborating with colleges of the university to open up more specializations to serve a broader range of students inside and outside KSA.
