Faculty in lines

Firstly: Development of sections and educational programs

College of Education for Girls was established in Ahsaa in the year 1411/1412 H to satisfy the need of the country for teachers in many different scientific and literal specialties.

Study in faculty aims to prepare cadres of women teachers with efficient   educational and scientific qualifications to bear responsibility of educating generations to become asset for dear country.

Period of study in the faculty four years, after which the student is granted the degree bachelor in pedagogy in one of the different specialties enlisted at the faculty.

At the beginning of establishing the faculty included only five sections, which are:

*  Islamic studies section

*  Arabic Language section

*  Chemistry section

*  Physics section

*  Home Economics  section

In the year 1413/1414 H faculty sections increased to eight sections by opening three other sections, which are:

* Biology section

* Mathematics section

* English Language section

This in addition to establishment and implementation of programs for preparing graduates of general secondary schools "scientific section" to work in school laboratories management technology, which is known by the title "laboratory cycle". This is a program of qualifying laboratories girls for one scholar year, i.e. two semesters during which student learn for 50 hours to cope with the needs of scientific laboratories for girls in different specialties with high knowledge of laboratories equipment and chemicals and required security and safety in use.

In the year 1415/16 H were added History section and Geography section. Thus number of section jumped to ten sections.

In the year 1416/17 H faculty added programs of General Diploma in Pedagogy for non- educational teachers post-graduated with the degree Bachelor in different specialties.

In the year 1418/19H scientific sections became independent of literal sections, to include:

* Mathematics section

*  Physics section

* Biology section

*  Chemistry section

*  Home Economics  section

Secondly: Development of numbers of academic and administrative staff:

Faculty with its scientific and literal sections started with (41) members for academic staff and (9) administrative staff. The number reached (178) members of academic staff and (32) administrative staff  till the year 1417/18H. After the independence of scientific sections their membership became (76) in the year 1418/19 H. In the year 1425/26H number of academic staff in the scientific sections reached (82) members and (36) administrative staff.

Thirdly: student number development at the faculty:

The faculty, when established in the year 1411/12 accepted (452) girl students in its scientific and literary sections and this number continued to increase. The following table shows the numbers of student and the graduates of the scientific sections since their independence of the literary sections in the year 1418/19 till the year1425/26:
