As a result for the increasing expansion witnessed by the university faculties in the field of postgraduate studies, The University has established an independent deanship for the postgraduate studies in 21-8-1404 Hijri, to undertake the supervision of the postgraduate studies programs in coordination with the concerned faculties. This comes as a result for the university being certain of the importance of postgraduate studies to provide the educational opportunity to the stage following bachelor degree in front of our ambitious youth and qualifying them appropriately.

     There is a council for the postgraduate studies including representatives of all the university faculties. The council is assigned to suggest the general policy for the postgraduate studies in the university, in addition to following up its implementation and taking necessary procedures to achieve the highest degree of coordination and cooperation between the university faculties and the research centers.

Vision:

     The vision of the postgraduate studies deanship focuses on settling distinguished postgraduate studies programs that is described by scientific and research insight through adopting an ambitious program for comprehensive quality that enable king Faysal University from taking a progressive position between national and international universities in the sector of postgraduate studies. The vision as well includes drawing a system for the postgraduates studies programs that obtain the approval of specialized bodies and covers all specialties available at the university, especially such vital programs which its qualifying, scientific and research outcomes participate effectively in the development movement for Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with its comprehensive concept.

Message:

    The message of the postgraduate studies deanship is summarized in encouraging all the university faculties to provide vital problems that can satisfy the developmental needs for Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The deanship is seeking, through its supervision missions on the postgraduate studies programs along with the university faculties, raising and developing such programs according to the standards of comprehensive quality and as establishing the modern concepts for research and scientific applications. Postgraduate studies deanship continues its message in providing all facilities and instructions for postgraduate studies students and making sure of applying the regulations organizing postgraduate studies. Broadcasting the results of postgraduate studies is also one of the deanship messages through providing it to the researches and all concerned parties for spreading the benefit.

Targets:

  Postgraduate studies targets are summarized as follows:

1-    continuous and permanent work to increase knowledge and science and develop it on high levels

2-    preparing the national efficient persons specialized in different fields to satisfy the needs of staff in universities and the needs of development plans

3-    Setting the solid rules of useful scientific research in a way consistent with the needs of the eastern region specifically and the Kingdom in general.

4-    Developing the abilities of the student in understanding the scientific research and its methods in different fields of science

5-    Studying the persistent problems and searching for suitable solution on studied scientific bases

6-    Supervising the postgraduate studies programs in the university in coordination with faculties

7-    Organizing and following up the affairs of delegates by the university for postgraduate studies outside and inside the kingdom, in addition to the envoys abroad for training
