The Center for Administrative Documents and Communications is one of the scientific centers at King Faisal University, specializing in handling and preserving important documents and archives at the university. It also serves as the channel through which the university communicates and submits all its papers and decisions, whether internal transactions or those between the university and other external entities.
The Research Center of Excellence in Palms and Dates at King Faisal University was established in 1403 AH (1983 CE) based on a recommendation from the First International Palm Symposium, which was held at the university that same year. At the end of 1428 AH (2007 CE), the Ministry of Higher Education approved the name "Research Center of Excellence in Palms and Dates at King Faisal University" and provided it with financial support.
The Center for Water and Environmental Studies was established based on the approval of the University President, No. 1664/M, dated 09/07/1402 AH, and upon the recommendation of the Scientific Council in its eleventh session, held on 22/05/1402 AH. The most important duties of this center are to provide studies, research, consultations, and training programs in all fields of water and related sciences that meet the needs of the Kingdom and neighboring countries.
The Translation, Authorship and Publishing Center is a specialized scientific, technical and administrative body that undertakes the task of supervising and following up on scientific works authored and translated, by collecting them and sending them to the relevant authorities for approval and arbitration (the Scientific Council).
University Rector's Decision No. 38/2/428, dated 24/11/1442 AH, established a program dedicated to promoting the overall health of university employees. This program encompasses the monitoring and enhancement of physical, psychological, social, and financial well-being. Its aim is to produce and develop health awareness initiatives that address the needs of university staff, enabling them to achieve optimal health and contribute positively to realizing the university's vision and mission, achieving the Kingdom's Vision 2030, and strengthening the Kingdom's capabilities at all levels.
The Camel Research Center at King Faisal University is a unique scientific facility in the Kingdom and the Arab world. Since its establishment in 1402 AH, it has been committed to promoting and advancing the status of camels, as camels are considered a national treasure that the Kingdom seeks to preserve and develop because of their special place in the hearts of the people of this country and their close connection to their history and civilization. Camels were a fundamental support for the survival of successive generations of the inhabitants of this region in the face of harsh climatic conditions, as they are the most efficient animal in adapting to those conditions.
The National Center for Talent and Creativity Research was established by royal decree as a national research and consulting institution hosted by King Faisal University to meet the aspirations of society in this field, making the nurturing of talent and creativity a societal culture and an educational practice in preparing the youth to assume their leadership roles in building society and shaping its civilization.
The university's Science and Technology Unit is the main supporter of developing the university's research capabilities, keeping pace with the strategic directions in the fields of science and technology, as defined by the comprehensive national plan for science, technology and innovation.
The center was established on 10/8/1427 AH, to play a prominent role in research, studies and practical consultations in the fields of exploitation, management and development of living aquatic resources, whether from natural fisheries or through fish farming.
The center is unique in the Kingdom and focuses primarily on research related to non-traditional birds (hunting and ornamental) and poultry, particularly in the areas of public health and the environment, as well as epidemiology and preventive and therapeutic medicine for birds.
The Inventory Control Unit is a control unit established in accordance with Article Twenty-Three (23) of the Government Warehouse Procedures Rules, issued by the Ministry of Finance. The role of the Inventory Control Unit is to apply the rules and procedures of the government warehouses to all university warehouses and disbursement operations and securing items that are carried out according to an objective and strategic plan that enables it to determine the minimum and maximum for those items and the demand limit for items present in the warehouses to ensure the availability of those items in case of need according to standards that are consistent with the regulations and laws to achieve the university’s goals and ensure the continuity of work, as it is concerned with the custody of employees and departments.
Based on the directives of the university’s senior management to achieve excellence in education and scientific research through participation in conferences and scientific events at the university or outside it in an honorable and organized manner befitting the university’s status, and with a desire to reduce the burdens on all sectors of the university with regard to organizing conferences and scientific events, a conferences and seminars unit was established at the university to specialize in these tasks and contribute to their implementation in a way that meets the needs of the university and its staff.
The King Faisal University Training and Research Station was established by Royal Decree No. 30/M/3388 dated 27/2/1397 AH and is located on the road leading to the sisterly Gulf Cooperation Council countries in the Al-Dulayjiyah area of Al-Ahsa Governorate, on an area of six hundred hectares (6 square kilometers) and 15 kilometers away from the main university campus.
Based on the university's commitment to adopting distinguished academic activities, and in support of the means and methods to achieve them, this unit was established to fulfill the university's objectives in this regard.
The Industrial Relations Unit was established by Administrative Decision No. 38/2/169 dated 4/6/1441 AH, issued by His Excellency the President of the University. The unit is linked to the Innovation and Business Development sector, and its general and main objective is to work on transferring research results from laboratories to the market, through establishing effective partnerships with industrial companies and research centers.
The Saudi Scientific Society for Islamic Culture was established on 8/7/1428 AH based on the approval of the King Faisal University Council in its sixth session for the academic year 1427/1428 AH, based on the decision of the Higher Education Council No. 10-15-1420 AH.
The establishment of the association was approved by the King Faisal University Council in its third session of the academic year 1421/1422 AH, held on 21/2/1422 AH. Elections for the association's first board of directors were held in 1426 AH/2005 CE, after the founding council had spent three years in the initial preparations for the association.
The center focuses on evaluating all aspects of the academic process to serve the university's colleges in developing the teaching and learning process and enhancing skills based on the scientific results and studies presented to them, in order to achieve the university's goals, strategy, and educational philosophy.
The Intellectual Awareness Unit was established in the academic year 1436/1437 AH, and its initial work began under the direct supervision of His Excellency the University President, whose encouragement, evaluation, and guidance were instrumental. The unit aims to ensure that all university students, including scholarship students, as well as faculty members and all university staff, benefit from its programs.
The English Language Center is a vital and active pillar of the Preparatory Year Deanship. The center is responsible for designing, teaching, and overseeing English language courses across the university's various colleges, with the exception of the College of Medicine, the College of Clinical Pharmacy, and the College of Computer Science and Information Technology. The center teaches university students the English language courses required by their respective colleges and strives to ensure the highest quality of English language instruction, meeting the highest standards.
The decision of His Excellency the President of the University was issued with Resolution No. 38/2/461 dated 11/20/1440 AH, crowned by the decision of the University Council in its ninth session for the academic year 1439/1440 AH held on Tuesday 9/16/1440 AH corresponding to 5/21/2019 AD, and the approval of His Excellency the Minister of Education by virtue of the letter of His Excellency the Secretary-General of the Interim Committee acting on behalf of the Higher Education Council No. 145940 dated 11/7/1440 AH, to establish the Self-Resources Unit to take over the financial supervision of the entities with self-resources.
To keep pace with development and foster excellence at King Faisal University, the university is currently focusing its efforts on developing an innovation and business development ecosystem to support its core functions in education, scientific research, and community engagement. To this end, the university established the Center for Entrepreneurship, which aims to cultivate a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship within the community, nurture innovative and entrepreneurial ideas, and assist them in developing these ideas, establishing their startups, and presenting them to potential investors, particularly those ideas that align with the university's identity and are related to food security and environmental sustainability.
The Student Excellence Center is dedicated to creating a stimulating environment for excellence and creativity for all students across the university's colleges, aiming to support the learning process and develop academic and professional skills. The center also oversees the university's academic advising process, providing support to both high-achieving and struggling students through a range of consultations and diverse academic activities designed to enhance their academic performance.
In the month of Dhul-Hijjah 1431 AH, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud - may God have mercy on him - issued a royal order No. (1431/62/18) to establish a center for legal studies and consultations to make the most of the distinguished scientific personnel that King Faisal University has and to invest the technical and administrative expertise and resources to serve the community and the labor market, through the provision of various legal services.
His Excellency the Minister of Education, Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Issa, has approved the establishment of the Saudi Scientific Society for Financial Risk Management, the first scientific society in the Kingdom to focus specifically on the field of financial risks, with King Faisal University as its headquarters.
