Royal approval No. (5088 M/B) was issued for the establishment of the College of Applied Medical Sciences at King Faisal University on 07/08/1432 AH. The College offers bachelor’s degrees in Applied Medical Sciences in Nursing, Clinical Nutrition, Health Informatics, and Public Health. The Nursing and Public Health programs are offered under the semester system over a period of three and a half years.

Clinical Nutrition and Health Informatics programs follow a four-year study system in addition to a one-year internship required for graduation. These programs comply with the standards of the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties. With the growing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Saudi healthcare sector has experienced an increasing need for Applied Medical Sciences specialists. Accordingly, the College seeks local and international accreditation for its academic programs to meet international standards and respond to local labor market needs in alignment with the University’s vision and mission. The College also brings together a distinguished group of academics, researchers, administrators, and technicians who have been carefully selected and who work in a stimulating and supportive environment with dedication and excellence to serve students and achieve the mission and objectives of both the College and the University.

The College receives special support from His Excellency the University President, may Allah protect him, which has enabled it to establish three computer laboratories and ten specialized health sciences laboratories. These facilities enhance students’ professional skills and refine their capabilities to meet the needs of the Saudi healthcare sector. The College administration also encourages students to participate through student clubs in community service initiatives, extracurricular student activities, and cultural and recreational events. With the continued growth of the healthcare sector in the Kingdom under Saudi Vision 2030, student demand for the College’s academic programs has increased, and the number of admitted students rose from 130 in 2013 to 512 in 2021. A Master’s program in Nursing was also introduced and currently serves approximately 50 male and female students.
