Disability Support Unit

Vision

Unit Responsibilities

  • Coordinating with the University’s administrations, deanships, and colleges to serve students with disabilities.
  • Welcoming new students at the beginning of each semester, introducing them to the University’s regulations and instructions, assisting them, and providing guidance.
  • Providing assistive technologies for students with disabilities.

Guidance and Skills Development Unit

Vision

To be one of the leading guidance and counseling units in providing counseling services that contribute to building an academically outstanding university generation capable of self-actualization, psychological well-being, and effective adaptation to its environment.

Mission

To provide advice and support through a range of developmental, preventive, and therapeutic programs specialized in academic, social, psychological, and educational matters for all students.

Objectives

  • Helping students achieve psychological and social adjustment and sound adaptation within the framework of the values and standards of society.
  • Helping students develop their abilities, inclinations, and skills and invest them in serving themselves and their community.
  • Helping students overcome the problems and difficulties they may face.

Student Nutrition and Housing Administration

Vision

To achieve leadership in creating an integrated service environment that supports students in their academic achievement.

Mission

Striving toward excellence in student nutrition and housing services and providing the comfortable and appropriate environment required by university students.

Objectives

  • Providing distinguished and diverse food services that meet students’ needs.
  • Meeting the minimum nutritional needs of low-income students.
  • Promoting nutritional awareness through educational programs offered by the Nutrition Clinic.
  • Providing suitable housing to ensure comfortable accommodation for students and support their psychological well-being.
  • Utilizing all available resources to create an appropriate environment for study and academic research.
  • Providing social, psychological, and health care for resident students.
  • Developing and enhancing students’ skills by providing extracurricular activities (recreational, cultural, and sports activities).
  • Strengthening the spirit of belonging to the nation and the University and encouraging participation in reinforcing the University’s identity (Namaa University, a Nation of Growth and Sustainability).
Unit Responsibilities

  • Establishing the requirements and specifications necessary for the terms of reference for providing food services, maintaining full professionalism in applying health and technical requirements, and preparing meals.
  • Identifying the University’s food service needs and implementing the University’s specifications and programs.
  • Supervising contracting procedures with specialized companies that provide food services.
  • Promoting nutritional awareness through educational and awareness programs and providing field training opportunities for students specializing in nutrition.
  • Providing suitable housing for University students and scholarship students.

Alumni Office

Vision

A distinguished graduate who meets the requirements of the local and regional labor markets.

Mission

Establishing communication channels and maintaining engagement between the University and its graduates by monitoring their progress, providing services aimed at enhancing their competencies and developing their skills, guiding them toward the labor market, and coordinating with employers to foster constructive cooperation in serving the University, its graduates, and society.

Objectives

  • Maintaining continuous communication with graduates as permanent members of the University, ensuring their continued loyalty and sense of belonging to the University.
  • Providing graduates with opportunities to invest their expertise in their respective fields of specialization to develop their knowledge, scientific skills, and professional capabilities.
  • Activating continuing education programs through colleges by organizing training programs and courses for graduates.
  • Encouraging graduates and prospective students to participate in programs offered by the colleges and their graduate offices.
  • Encouraging graduates to participate in University activities by considering such participation as part of the various activities held at the college or University level.
  • Inviting graduates to participate in various University events and programs.
  • Providing graduates with opportunities to contribute to financial and moral support for the development of their University, colleges, or the departments from which they graduated.
  • Organizing an annual alumni gathering attended by graduates of each cohort and from all colleges, proposed to coincide with the University’s graduation ceremony.
  • Publishing an annual or semi-annual newsletter under the name Alumni Magazine or Alumni Newsletter, containing news relevant to graduates.

    Exploring the feasibility of establishing an alumni assistance fund.

    Identifying graduates’ job performance and the challenges they face, and utilizing these findings in the proper planning of academic programs at the University.
Unit Responsibilities

The Alumni Office at the University has been divided into three main sections, as follows:
First: Alumni Relations Department
  1. Public Relations Group

    • Inviting graduates to participate in the University’s various activities.
    • Participating in celebrations and exhibitions related to graduation and alumni.
    • Organizing visits, evenings, and trips for college and/or University graduates, subject to the approval of the authorized official.
    • Organizing periodic alumni gatherings for college and/or University graduates.
    • Organizing the annual Alumni Day during the second academic semester, including an open employment program.
  2. Publications and Printed Materials Group

    • Coordinating with the Alumni Department at the Deanship of Admission and Registration in preparing the University Alumni Directory.
    • Preparing an employment directory identifying the entities that coordinate the employment of university graduates.
    • Preparing publications on employment opportunities available to University graduates and publishing them in University publications.
    • Preparing various statistics on University graduates, allocating Alumni Office noticeboards to be distributed across University buildings to monitor job advertisements for different specializations.
Second: Career Preparation Department
  1. Preparatory Courses Group

    • Coordinating the organization of workshops and training courses offered by University graduates.
    • Coordinating the delivery of training courses on résumé writing for prospective graduates.
    • Coordinating the delivery of training courses on personal interview skills for prospective graduates.
    • Coordinating the delivery of training courses on methods of searching for suitable job opportunities.
  2. Career Guidance Group

    • Guiding and directing graduates and prospective graduates in the process of searching for job opportunities and securing employment whenever possible.
    • Providing entities interested in employing University graduates with the data of graduates and prospective graduates.
    • Identifying and regularly updating job opportunities available to University graduates.
    • Establishing an effective mechanism to follow up on the employment of University graduates with entities requesting graduate data.
    • Following up on available resources concerning graduate students and collecting information about the jobs they have obtained in both the public and private sectors, inside and outside the Kingdom.
Third: Development and Follow-up Department
  1. Computer Group

    • Documenting University graduates’ data in a dedicated archive, both in paper and electronic formats.
    • Updating graduate student lists and their information periodically.
    • Establishing a communication network among graduates.
    • Continuously updating the Alumni Office website on the University’s website.
    • Coordinating with the University’s Information Center to develop the Alumni Office’s work mechanisms through the use of available information technologies.
    • Coordinating the development of a dedicated information system for the Office and establishing a database for University graduates.
  2. Community Service Group

    • Assisting graduates in identifying opportunities to pursue postgraduate studies through guidance and counseling.
    • Distributing announcements related to postgraduate studies at various universities and providing the necessary clarifications and information.
    • Benefiting from graduates and their expertise by involving them in offering their opinions on academic programs and study plans.
    • Coordinating with the University’s colleges to enable their councils to benefit from graduates’ perspectives when considering specific cases.
    • Providing financial and moral support for the University’s programs and activities through graduates and the institutions to which they belong.

Scholarship Students Care Unit

Vision

Leadership in supporting scholarship students to achieve academic, intellectual, and professional excellence across various disciplines.

Mission

Providing a stimulating learning environment for scholarship students and creating appropriate conditions for them in line with the future vision.

Objectives

The objectives of the Scholarship Students Care Unit at King Faisal University stem from Ministerial Council Resolution No. (94) dated 29/3/1431 AH and the decision of His Excellency the President of King Faisal University No. 124/2/38 dated 24/4/1439 AH, as follows:

  • Attracting academically outstanding students in accordance with the standards of scientific excellence and intellectual competitiveness among University students.
  • Establishing academic and cultural ties with Islamic educational institutions throughout the Islamic world.
  • Strengthening solidarity and understanding between the University and other educational institutions around the world.
  • Connecting scholarship students with King Faisal University faculty members by assigning each group a faculty member to supervise, guide, and mentor them.
  • Establishing a charitable fund at King Faisal University to support scholarship students through donations, contributions, gifts, wills, and endowments.
  • Providing all forms of care and support for scholarship students during their stay at the University, both internally and externally, in accordance with applicable regulations.
  • Preparing programs to familiarize them with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, fulfill their needs, and enable them to benefit from their knowledge and experience.
  • Strengthening ties among scholarship students and Saudi students through joint activities and programs.
  • Addressing any problems or obstacles encountered by scholarship students during their studies.

    Providing academic, intellectual, and administrative guidance to scholarship students.

Student Fund Administration

The Student Fund seeks to provide academic, psychological, social, and financial stability for male and female students regularly enrolled at the University by providing financial support for student activity programs and by offering guidance and counseling through the Deanship of Student Affairs. It also provides services to students through advances, financial assistance, loans, and the student employment program. In addition, the Fund supervises student service centers, all in accordance with the Fund’s bylaws and the programs approved by the Deanship of Student Affairs.

Student Fund Services:

The Fund aims to provide services to regularly enrolled students, particularly:

  1. Student financial assistance
  2. Student advances

Disbursements from the Fund for advances and financial assistance shall be made in accordance with the following regulations:

  • The student shall submit an application for an advance or financial assistance using the designated form.
  • The student’s loan application shall be presented to the Student Fund Administration Council for consideration and approval of the amount of financial assistance or loan and its repayment period.
  • The student’s loan application shall be presented to the Student Fund Administration Council for consideration and approval of the amount of financial assistance or loan and its repayment period.
  • The advance shall be repaid on the prescribed due date by deducting it from the student’s monthly allowance, provided that the deduction does not exceed 25% of the monthly allowance. The Fund Administration Council may approve otherwise.
  • If the student borrower’s relationship with the University ends before the loan has been fully repaid, the Administration Council may, upon the recommendation of the Chairman of the Administration Council, exempt the student from repaying the remaining balance of the loan in necessary cases.
Student Employment:

It is one of the educational and social care programs offered by the Deanship of Student Affairs through the Student Fund Administration. This program focuses on refining University students’ talents and directing them toward practicing work, assuming responsibility, and contributing by employing them in one of the University’s administrations, colleges, or deanships during their free time.

Supporting Student Activities and Recognizing Outstanding Students:

The Fund seeks to support student activities in all their forms, including religious, social, artistic, cultural, and sports activities. The Fund also contributes to providing in-kind awards for outstanding male and female students in student activities.
