General Administration of Financial and Administrative Affairs

This administration is responsible for implementing the university’s approved budget in accordance with recognized accounting standards and principles and the instructions issued by the Ministry of Finance. It also prepares the university’s financial statements, budgets, and final accounts at the end of each fiscal year for inclusion in the State Budget.

The library has been present since the very beginning of the establishment of King Faisal University in 1395/1396 AH. The library provides various knowledge resources to all members of the university community (male and female students), faculty members, laboratory technicians, and university administrators. It also contributes to serving the local community in this regard, in addition to its participation in local and international events related to book fairs and modern technical information.

Since its inception, King Faisal University has placed special emphasis on scientific research and graduate studies, striving to provide all the necessary resources to offer high-quality graduate programs in disciplines needed by the country, in fulfillment of its mission and objectives. As a result of the steady expansion of the university's graduate studies programs, an independent Deanship of Graduate Studies was established on August 21, 1984 (21/8/1404 AH), tasked with overseeing the university's graduate programs in coordination with the relevant colleges.

The main focus of the department is to maximize the return on investment for the university's resources and assets to achieve its financial goals (diversifying income sources and achieving financial sustainability). The Investment and Resource Development Department's work includes continuously developing and increasing returns by proposing plans to develop the university's assets and properties, coordinating with the private sector to establish partnerships for promising investment projects, and implementing the university's investment plans across all sectors.

The Intellectual Awareness Unit was established in the academic year 1436/1437 AH. Its initial activities were launched under the direct supervision of His Excellency the University Rector, whose support, guidance, and evaluation played a significant role in its development. The Unit seeks to ensure that all university students, including scholarship students, as well as faculty members and all university employees, benefit from its programs.

Operation and Maintenance Department

Since its establishment in 1975, King Faisal University has been committed to ensuring that all its buildings and facilities are exemplary and contribute to the comfort of university faculty members, employees, and students. Given the importance of this matter, the University established a specialized engineering department concerned with all aspects of operation and maintenance, known as the Operation and Maintenance Department. The department includes an integrated team of engineers, technicians, and administrative staff.

The Warehouse Department is considered one of the important departments in any government organization in general and is an essential link within the University's administrative system in particular. Its primary role is to store and manage the various items purchased and retained by the University, whether durable items (fixed assets) or consumable items. The department supplies all university sectors with their requirements for furniture, equipment, stationery, and office supplies according to the established procedures for issuing and distributing materials.

The Vice Presidency for Academic Affairs and its affiliated units focus on three main areas: students, faculty members, and academic programs. It provides the necessary support to students and a professional environment for faculty members to ensure the success of the educational process and achieve distinguished outcomes. The Vice Presidency also continuously reviews study plans and academic programs, keeps pace with the requirements of the Education and Training Evaluation Commission and academic accreditation standards, and strives to achieve the highest academic standards to enhance the services provided to all beneficiaries and promote excellence in teaching and learning.

General Administration of Corporate Communication and Media

The University Center for Communication and Media was established in the academic year 1398/1399 AH under the name “Public Relations Department,” with its functions assigned to the Office of the University Rector. Its name was later changed to “Public Relations and Media Department” on 5/1/1418 AH. It was subsequently affiliated with the Vice Presidency for Studies, Development, and Community Service by a decision of the University Rector, and its name was changed on 10/2/1431 AH to “Media and Public Relations Department,” with a supervisor appointed to oversee its activities.

The Housing Department at King Faisal University was established as an independent department to implement the policies required to provide housing for university employees in accordance with the rules and regulations established by the University's senior management and the Permanent Housing Committee. The department continuously works to provide appropriate services in line with the University's aspirations and expectations and to address emerging developments related to housing and its beneficiaries, given that university housing is one of the key factors affecting the lives of beneficiaries of residential units.

General Administration of Legal Affairs

General Administration of Legal Affairs

The General Administration of Legal Affairs is responsible for providing legal opinions and advice to all university entities and departments regarding the proper application of laws, regulations, and instructions. It reviews all contracts and agreements and ensures that they are legally structured. It also investigates violations attributed to faculty members, employees, and students, and represents the University in cases filed by or against it before the competent authorities, such as the Administrative Court of the Board of Grievances, Labor Courts, and Labor Offices. In addition, it reviews the minutes of college councils, deanships, the Scientific Council, and various university committees.

Scholarship Administration

King Faisal University has placed great importance on scholarships. Accordingly, the Scholarship Administration was established to handle matters related to scholarships and scholarship recipients and to serve university-sponsored scholars both inside and outside the Kingdom. This followed the approval of His Excellency the Minister of Education of a study concerning the restructuring of the University's organizational structure. The study included the addition and modification of the organizational affiliations of several university sectors, including the establishment of the Scholarship Administration.

The foundation of the Vice Presidency dates back to 1422 AH, when the University's senior management, in response to the significant expansion and development witnessed by the University, decided to establish an office to oversee the University's administrative and financial affairs. This contributed to further progress in the University's operations and the introduction of numerous administrative and financial systems that improved workflow.

The Transportation Department plays an important role in supporting and providing transportation services and establishing an effective system to facilitate transportation for all university members, including students, employees, and faculty members. It also receives delegations from outside the University according to essential work requirements in support of the University and the community.
