Duties and Powers
The Housing Department undertakes all supervisory and administrative tasks related to housing and its affairs, according to the competencies and powers granted to it, and in particular the following:

Receiving applications from applicants for housing through the electronic portal.

Preparing lists of preferences for housing units and presenting them to the committee for approval.

Preparing residential unit lease contracts in accordance with this regulation and in compliance with relevant regulations.

Issuing circulars and instructions related to housing and distributing them to all colleges, departments and residents.

Follow up on the implementation of the housing regulations for faculty members and those in similar positions at King Faisal University and the committee's recommendations after their approval by the authorized person.

Handing over and receiving the housing units to those entitled to them.

Coordination with relevant departments and entities to carry out their tasks and duties in the housing area.

The Housing Department is responsible for coordinating with relevant university departments to prepare, maintain, clean, repair, and paint the housing unit if necessary before handing it over to the resident, within the limits of available resources.

Making applications available on the electronic portal permanently, sorting, reviewing, verifying, and submitting applications for approval, and then delivering them, or giving them waiting numbers - in case there are no available vacancies - with announcing the number that reached the turn to obtain housing.

Informing applicants of their eligibility and informing those who are not eligible of the reasons for ineligibility via the electronic portal.

Addressing the relevant authorities to collect fees for housing units, services, fines, compensations, and the like from residents.

Supervising events held in the housing area and monitoring their implementation in coordination with relevant authorities.

Supervising public facilities in housing and monitoring all services provided to housing staff.

Receiving requests, complaints and suggestions from residents, and taking the necessary action regarding them.

Submitting and following up on maintenance and repair requests for public facilities within the residence and submitting periodic reports on their condition and needs to the committee.

Follow up on the maintenance of public facilities such as street lighting, cleanliness, water and sewage networks and other services, and landscaping of public parks and green spaces.

Providing pest control services in residential units and surrounding areas. These services include spraying pesticides when needed.

Providing maintenance services for residential units, whenever necessary, based on the resident's notification to the relevant department.
