Regulations and Policies

  • Any person allocated University housing shall undertake to pay the security deposit and, upon receiving the housing and furniture allowance or housing assistance, if already received, shall settle the financial dues arising from the housing.
  • A resident may not assign the housing to any of their children, relatives, persons under their care, or others. In the event of a violation, the University has the right to require immediate evacuation of the housing, and the resident forfeits the right to University housing.
  • The Housing Administration has the right to verify that the resident and their family members are residing in the housing and that the housing is not being used for any other purposes.
  • The resident shall pay the costs of water, electricity, and telephone consumption in accordance with University regulations.
  • No modifications or additions may be made to the housing.
  • The Maintenance Department must be notified immediately of any malfunction or defect that appears in the housing unit. Maintenance teams shall be permitted to carry out preventive maintenance and repair any malfunction or defect that may cause damage to residents or to the building and its contents. The resident shall bear full responsibility if maintenance personnel are prevented from carrying out the repair.
  • If the resident damages or loses any item belonging to the housing, they shall repair the damage at their own expense and pay the value of any missing item as determined by the University.
  • The resident shall keep the housing clean and in good condition, maintain the cleanliness of the building in which they reside, and preserve the cleanliness of the residential area and the safety of its facilities, such as trees, flowers, and other features.
  • Traffic regulations and all safety measures designed to prevent accidents must be observed. Children and persons who do not hold a driving license shall not be permitted to drive vehicles within the University campus.
  • If residents’ vehicles are parked in violation of regulations, the applicable traffic violation system shall be enforced.
  • Waste and refuse must be disposed of in the designated areas after being placed in tightly sealed plastic bags.
  • General standards of appearance, conduct, and interaction with others must be observed.
  • Children must not be allowed to play in entrances, corridors, or public facilities, and bicycles and personal belongings must not be stored in these areas so as not to inconvenience others. The resident shall bear the cost of any damage caused inside or outside the housing unit and shall be responsible for the conduct of their guests, children, and any persons working for them.
  • The vehicle identification card must be returned when vacating the housing or when the vehicle is sold to another person, even if the card is damaged.
  • Electricity and water consumption must be conserved and limited to necessary purposes, in accordance with the procedures issued by the relevant ministries and authorities.
  • If a ready housing unit is allocated to a University employee and they delay taking possession for thirty (30) days from the date of notification, they shall forfeit their right to the housing unit and undertake to relocate within one month to the assigned residential premises.
  • If an emergency requires immediate access to the housing unit while the resident and their family are absent, the unit shall be opened by the Technical Committee, a report shall be prepared, and the resident shall be informed of what occurred.
  • Housing workers may not be employed to perform private work inside the housing unit, wash vehicles, or engage in work that is not assigned to them as part of the resident’s sponsorship. The resident shall bear responsibility for any damage caused to others or to property.
  • Keeping animals is prohibited.
  • Residents may not accommodate drivers in the residential units.
  • The resident shall be notified of any improper conduct by their children or visitors, such as disturbing neighboring residents through noise or disruptive behavior, based on a report from the University Security Department. If such conduct is repeated, the resident shall be required to vacate the housing in accordance with the applicable regulations.
  • The resident’s right to continue residing in University housing shall be forfeited in the following cases:
    • o If the resident, a member of their family, their visitors, or employed workers are reported three times for violating the housing conditions.
    • o If a violation is established by the relevant authorities, whether inside or outside the housing, such as causing harm to persons or property, harassing residents or their visitors, or theft of residents’ property.
    • o Making additions or modifications to the housing or encroaching on adjacent land.
    • o Resignation, dismissal, or termination of the employment contract by the University.

First: The resident shall do the following:

  • Complete the relevant clearance form with the Housing Administration.
  • Settle any outstanding amounts related to the housing unit rent and service bills (electricity, water, and telephone).
  • Vacate the housing unit of all belongings, furniture, and appliances belonging to the resident.
Second: A committee from the Housing Administration and the Maintenance Department shall inspect the housing unit to be vacated and identify any damage resulting from misuse, if any. The resident shall be notified to settle the cost of such damage with the competent authority, and the Housing Administration shall prepare an evacuation report.
Third:The security deposit shall be refunded to the resident after deducting the value of any damage, if applicable.
Fourth:A retiree shall be granted a period of one year to vacate the housing, provided that the rent is paid in advance before signing the clearance form, while the security deposit shall be retained until the unit is vacated. As for the family of a deceased resident, a maximum period of two years shall be granted to vacate the housing.

  • When traveling on leave, the resident must ensure that all water valves inside the housing unit are closed, all lights are switched off, all unnecessary electrical appliances are disconnected, all windows are closed, and all other necessary safety measures are taken to protect the housing unit and its contents.
  • Upon termination of the employee’s relationship with the University and departure without handing over the housing unit, a committee shall be formed to open the housing unit, inventory its contents, determine the resulting financial obligations, and deduct them from the housing security deposit. If the deposit is insufficient, the remaining amount shall be claimed through the competent authorities.
  • If a contracted employee fails to return from leave, or if the employee or their representative delays returning the housing unit to the Housing Administration, the University shall have the right to charge the actual rent for the housing unit for the period between the end of the leave and the return of the unit, as determined by the University. The University’s decision in this regard shall be final.

The residents shall be responsible for furnishing and maintaining the housing unit at their own expense, and for coordinating with the Facilities Management Department regarding the connection of appliances to the electrical network. In the event of any violation, the resident shall bear the cost of any damage resulting from such violation.
