The Department of Restorative Dental Sciences comprises three divisions: Operative Dentistry, Endodontics, and Dental Materials. The department’s mission is to fulfill the academic goals of King Faisal University through excellence in teaching, high-quality patient care, and world-class research. The primary objective of the department is to enhance students’ preclinical practical experience and provide them with up-to-date knowledge and comprehensive clinical training in operative dentistry. The department also aims to educate dental students on the fundamental principles of endodontics and their clinical applications, enabling them to diagnose and treat most pulpal and periapical diseases confidently and successfully. In addition, the department focuses on equipping students with essential knowledge of dental materials—their structure, behavior, handling, and clinical applications. Students receive extensive hands-on training in preclinical laboratories, preparing them to deliver high-quality dental care in the community.
