
About the Department

The Department of Biomedical Sciences of the College of Dentistry at the King Faisal University is responsible for the teaching of the basic medical sciences part of the bachelor of dental surgery course at the King Faisal University.
The Department deliver teaching of biomedical sciences such as Gross Anatomy for Dentist, Histology (Microscopic Anatomy)for Dentist, Microbiology and Immunology, Physiology, Biochemistry, Systemic Pathology, Dental Neuroscience and Pharmacology for Dentists.
Other courses include Dental Anatomy and Occlusion, Clinical Pharmacology and Craniofacial Growth and Development In addition to the teaching of the basic medical sciences, the department is dedicated to the development of research in the biomedical sciences, applied or translational research and medical/dental education.
Objectives

Provide excellent course instruction in the field of biomedical sciences to equip the students to be committed to the dental profession and lifelong learning whilst maintaining highest ethical and professional standards throughout their career. This through the development of integrated courses, students centered learning, library projects, and intense practical’s experience.
Collaboration with other departments within the College and the university and international centers of excellence in research and teaching. The department aimed to contribute actively to the development of research and teaching excellence goals of the king Faisal University.
