The Department of Educational Administration and Leadership is one of the main supporting departments in the College of Education since its establishment in the academic year 1401/1402 H, based on the decision of His Royal Highness the Deputy Prime Minister No. S/89452/7 dated 3/9/1399 H. The department initially operated as a subsidiary specialization of the Social Work and Arabic Language Department for several years. After the closure of the subsidiary specializations, the department played its role by offering two courses required by the college: Principles of Administration (ADR 101) and School Administration (ADR 221).

In 1420 AH, the regulations were changed, and undergraduate teaching was limited to one course, which is Educational Administration. The department also began offering a master's program in Educational Administration.

The Department of Educational Administration and Leadership aims to prepare students both administratively and educationally, and to develop the educational administrative skills of administrators, vice principals, and educational supervisors through graduate programs and educational courses offered by the department. It also provides necessary consultations in the field of educational administration and follows up on administrative and educational developments in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The department is a supportive department; it does not offer a bachelor's degree but rather a master's program.
