Grant Student Care Unit

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is known for its sponsorship of science students from all over the world, and Al-Ahsa in particular has been an attractive area for science students with its schools and facilities throughout the ages. Since the opening of King Faisal University in Al-Ahsa in 1395 AH, 1975 AD, it has been attracting male and female science students from the Gulf and Arab countries. And Islam nurtures them and produces many of them. In order to achieve the Kingdom’s pioneering role in the world by sponsoring students of science
What it called for in international forums in this regard was issued by Council of Ministers Resolution No. (94) dated 3/29/1431 AH and based on Paragraph (A) of Clause Nine of “Controls for accepting and sponsoring non-Saudi scholarship students in higher education institutions in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.” From the Honorable Council of Ministers Resolution No. (94) issued on 3/29/1431 AH, which included the establishment of a unit in the educational institution concerned with scholarship students and to be managed by qualified supervisors.

In implementation of the idea of sponsoring scholarship students stipulated in the decision of the Council of Ministers, a committee concerned with sponsoring scholarships was formed, headed by Dr. Saleh bin Ibrahim Al-Hussein and the membership of Dr. Hamad bin Salem Al-Marri, Dr. Ahmed bin Faris Al-Saloum, and Professor Abdulaziz bin Ibrahim Al-Muhanna (and it continued for one year). Then a proposal was submitted by His Excellency Dr. Khalil bin Ibrahim Al-Huwaiji, Dean of Student Affairs No. (30904), dated 4/24/1438 AH, requesting the formation of a unit to care for scholarship students; In implementation of what was stipulated in the Council of Ministers decision; In light of that, the administrative decision No. (38/2/124) was issued on 4/24/1439 AH, signed by His Excellency the Director of King Faisal University, Professor Dr. Muhammad bin Abdulaziz Al-Ohali.
Establishing: “Scholarship Student Care Unit” in support of the proposal of His Excellency the Dean of Student Affairs and in implementation of Cabinet Resolution No. 94, and ensuring that the supervision of the unit is assigned to His Excellency Dr. Hamad bin Salem Al Marri and the membership of Dr. Ahmed bin Faris Al-Saloum and Professor Abdulaziz bin Ibrahim. Al-Muhanna and teaching assistant / Fahd bin Hassan Al-Arjani; As members of the unit.

Providing a stimulating environment for learning among scholarship students and creating appropriate conditions for them in accordance with the future vision.

Objectives

The objectives of the Scholarship Student Care Unit at King Faisal University emerge from Cabinet Resolution No. (94) dated 3/29/1431 and the Resolution of His Excellency the Director of King Faisal University No. 2/38/124 dated 4/24/1439 AH, as follows:

Attracting scientifically and culturally distinguished students to enrich scientific research and knowledge competition between them and university students.
Establishing scientific and cultural ties with Islamic scientific institutions in the Islamic world.
Strengthening solidarity and understanding between the university and other educational institutions around the world.
Linking scholarship students with faculty members at King Faisal University so that each group of them is supervised by a faculty member to direct and guide them.
Creating a charitable fund at King Faisal University to support scholarship programs based on subsidies, donations, gifts, wills and endowments.
Providing all types of special care and care for male and female internal and external scholarship students for the duration of their stay at the university in accordance with what the system requires.
Preparing programs for them to get to know the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, meet its scholars and officials, and benefit from their knowledge and experience.
Strengthening ties between them and Saudi students through joint activities and programs
Working on all the problems and obstacles that scholarship students, male and female, encounter during the course of their studies.
Academic, cognitive and administrative guidance for scholarship students.

Operational plans for the unit
The unit seeks to achieve its goals through some purposeful plans and programmes, including:

 Visiting some notables and sheikhs of the region to introduce the scholarship students to them.
Conducting trips for scholarship students achieves the goal of introducing the region and entertainment at the same time.
Preparing auxiliary scientific programs to raise the level of academic scholarship students.
Conducting development courses and training programs.
Creating conditions for Hajj and Umrah according to specific priorities.
Holding scientific, entertainment and sports competitions.
Conduct periodic meetings with scholarship students to monitor their academic level.

Services provided
The agency is considered the liaison officer between the university and the Ministry of Higher Education on the one hand, and a link between the university sectors concerned with scholarship students on the other hand.

Therefore, the services are varied and numerous as follows:

1- Financial services

 Reward instead of arrival.
 Granting an annual ticket to regular students and compensation for travel tickets for new students.
 Follow up on the financial procedures for students’ rewards until they are regular.
 Providing emergency financial aid and assistance to students.
 Employing some scholarship students.
2- Passport services

 Issuing a new residence permit, renewing it, and issuing a replacement for a lost and damaged one.
 Issuing an exit and return visa, issuing a final exit visa, and canceling the visa.
 Transferring information after renewing the passport.
