Given the importance of graduate studies in advanced societies, and the expansion in the preparation of the University college's graduate programs, the Deanship of Graduate Studies at King Faisal University was established in 1404 H. The current number of programs are approximately 60 (sixty) programs, including PhD, Master, and High Diploma programs.
The university is currently working on the project to develop more graduate programs. A committee was formed under the chairmanship of His Excellency, the University President. This project resulted in the creation of 54 more programs (13 PhDs, 24 Masters, 17 diplomas) in addition to the current programs, all of which are in line with the requirements of the labor market and the Vision 2030 of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
In addition, 12 joint programs were chosen as a result of co-operation between departments and colleges. A committee was formed under the chairmanship of the Dean of Graduate Studies, Dr. Salah Bin Abdulaziz Al-Shami, to develop standard rules and regulations for the graduate studies at King Faisal University. The University has also developed an electronic portal for postgraduate programs in line with the Vision 2030 of the Kingdom for the digital transformation of information.
In addition, to establish quality practices in the postgraduate programs, a committee was established under the chairmanship of the Dean of Graduate Studies, which deals with quality assurance matters in graduate programs, follow-ups and services offered to postgraduate students. The committee will be the nucleus for implementing quality practices in all graduate programs.In conclusion, I would like to extend my sincere thanks to the University's administration, headed by HE Dr. Mohammed bin Abdul Aziz Al-Ohali, the University's Vice-President for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Dr. Hassan bin Rafdan Al-Hajhuj for their continuous support to the Deanship and their role for the development of graduate programs
