King Faisal University witnesses a number of modern developments and transformations regarding the electronic systems that support the academic and administrative affairs. Consequently, the Deanship of Information Technology always strives for excellence in delivering digital services by providing modern information and technical services to the university and its community. It seeks to maintain the university’s leadership in the digital transformation, which goes in line with the Kingdom's Vision 2030, the plan of the Kingdom’s university education "Afaq", the university strategic plan, and the executive plan of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.

    Deanship of Information Technology aims at achieving the desired development by adopting the digital transformation and using the best and latest technologies and applications of computing, the informational network and other modern facilities in supporting the academic and administrative processes inside the university. In the last few years, the university has witnessed an improvement in its activities in several areas. Such improvement seeks the development of work procedures, services, and functions in order to increase effectiveness and operational efficiency. In addition, it seeks an optimal use of modern digital transformation technologies in creative ways allowing the university to end the paper transactions, optimal use of resources to reduce the operational costs, and simplify work procedures and to reduce the procedures processing time. It also unifies and integrates applications with the relevant government agencies and user interfaces to improve the methods of use and systems integration and improve information accessibility in order to support decision-making.

    The digital transformation strategic plan comes from the university's strategic plan 2020-2024, which seeks to maintain development. It is in line with the Kingdom's 2030 vision. Such an approach ensures that IT deanship is in the right path set by the Guardians – Saved by Allah Almighty – to preserve prosperity for all who live on this blessed land, and to keep up with any global technical development that enhances the kingdom presence and prestige through its educational institutions.
