​KFU seeks to invest heavily in various sciences and technologies which lead to products that support its identity i.e. food security and environmental sustainability. To do so, the university established, industrial relations and technology transfer unit as a supportive investment line. This unit is divided into two offices: the first office is industrial relations whom through, the unit seeks to reduce the obstacles and challenges faced by companies and other external parties by linking them with their researchers. While the second office is technology transfer for purpose of transferring the university products to market. The goal of this office is to drive innovation through researcher's products. ​
