• Recommending approval for academic connections and sabbaticals for faculty members.
• Recommending cases of early retirement and resignations for faculty members.
• Recommending the utilization of faculty members' services.
• Promoting scientific research, authorship, translation, and publication.
• Establishing guidelines to encourage the preparation of scientific research.
• Proposing the establishment of scientific research centers.
• Coordinating between scientific research centers and developing a general plan for them.
• Liaising with research centers outside the university.
• Determining incentive and appreciation rewards for academic works, evaluating them, and approving their disbursement.
• Publishing research, books, and theses deemed suitable for publication.
• Recommending the issuance of scientific journals.
• Recommending the establishment of scientific societies and coordinating their activities.
• Approving references, textbooks, and theses submitted for review.
• Evaluating academic qualifications presented by Saudi faculty members.
• Addressing matters referred by the University President.
