The University Vice Presidency for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research was established in 1417 AH. The first Vice Dean was Dr. Saad bin Abdullah Al-Barrak (1417-1423 AH), followed by Prof. Abdullah Ibrahim Al-Saadat (1423-1430 AH), then Prof. Abdulaziz Abdulmohsen Al-Mulhim (1430-1436 AH). He was succeeded by Prof. Hassan bin Rafdan Al-Hajhouj (1436-1442 AH), and later by Prof. Majid bin Aadi Al-Shammari (1442-1445 AH).
