Scientific Journal of King Faisal University: Basic and Applied Sciences (ISSN: 1658-0311, E-ISSN: 1658-8371) is an international peer-reviewed and open-access journal founded in 2000 under the guidance of the Scientific Council of King Faisal University.

  • Open access journal: The journal is published printed and online for free page charge.
  • Journal Rank: Scopus indexed journal (CiteScore 2022 = 0.4; multidisciplinary).
  • Rapid Publication: the journal is issued biannually in June and December, and the accepted paper is published immediately as an early view with doi.

Editors-in-chief are as follows: Prof. Khalid S. Al Abdulsalam (2000-2002), Prof. Adel I. Al Afaleq (2002-2014), Dr Muhammed S. Al Wasli (2014-2015), Prof. Ghazi F. Basiouni (2015-2020) and Prof. Abdulrahman E. Al Lily (2020- to present).

The articles in the journal are open access articles licensed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution Non-Commercial License (BY-NC-SA 4.0) which permits unrestricted, non-commercial use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided the work is properly cited.
