In cooperation with the Integrated Farm Guidance Center, the Center of Excellence in Research in Palm and Dates in King Faisal University Participates in the Field Days series

The Center for Excellence in Research in Palm and Dates at King Faisal University participated on Tuesday,7/8/ 2018 on the Field Day, in the field days series, in cooperation with the Integrated Farm Guidance Center of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture entitled "Methods of Ripen dates Conservation". Dr.Abdul Qader Abdulqader Salam, Associate Professor, Center for Excellence in Research in Dates and Dates, delivered a lecture on the stages of fruit growth and methods of conservation of the ripen dates before harvest, which includes the increase or delay of nitrogen fertilization and the continuation of irrigation at the start of wet coloring, which delay the maturity of ripen dates .

During the lecture, he discussed the conservation of ripen dates post-harvest time, which includes freezing or milling (freezing with nitrogen) and applying wet preservation techniques under modified atmosphere.

At the end of the lecture, he answered the questions and responded to the inquiries of the farmers of the center, regarding the appropriate ways to preserve the ripen dates.

This participation comes within the activities of the Center for Excellence in Research in Palm and Dates at King Faisal University in the service of the community in Al-Ahsa Governorate.
