​About Chemistry Department


The department of chemistry is one of the academic departments in the College of Science. The department currently offers two study programs. The first is the Bachelor of Science in Chemistry (B.Sc.), which is accredited by the NCAAA. The second is a Master of Science in Chemistry (M.Sc). The department also offers several chemistry courses for other colleges and programs.

The department includes elite faculty members in different chemistry specializations. The research activities of the department cover a broad spectrum of scientific research. The research themes in the department are compatible with the university's research identity, Vision 2030 and the Saudi Green Initiative.

In addition, the department is committed to community engagement in various ways. Both research and undergraduate laboratories are well equipped with state-of-the-art techniques that serve the educational and research process. Finally, the department of chemistry has won the award of his Excellency the President of the University for "the Distinguished Academic Department" for the academic year 2022/2021.
