Introduction

Inspection of food safety and quality is one of the most important responsibilities for which the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia pays much attention for the sake of community health. Hence the importance of reflection on the present situation of the inspection of food safety and quality and on the new developments in this field with attention to knowledge, technical and ethical skills food inspectors have to acquire.

Aims

  1. Acquaintance with the laws and legislations of food safety in the Kingdom
  2. Acquaintance with procedures of inspection of food safety and quality in the kingdom to protect consumer health and prevent commercial fraud.
  3. Exchange of experience with regard to successful applications of food inspection and control procedures
  4. Outline constrains that face organizations responsible for food inspection and recommend solutions

Scientific program:

  1. Present situation and future perspectives of inspection of food safety and quality in the Kingdom
  2. Present situation and future perspectives of inspection of food safety and quality in the Gulf States
  3. Experiences of some private sector organizations in inspection and food safety and quality control
  4. Organization of a workshop on the basics of food inspection and the ethical requirements of a successful inspector
