About postgraduate studies
The graduate programs at King Faisal University aim, among other things, to enable distinguished students who hold university degrees to pursue their studies in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Postgraduate studies at the university are one of the main means of higher education to find solutions to the problems faced by society. Postgraduate studies are also considered necessary to develop distinguished researchers who are able to conduct and write scientific research correctly and draw conclusions from this research, which is not available at the undergraduate level of university studies.
The graduate studies program at the College of Agricultural and Food Sciences began in 1404 H, corresponding to 1984 , in four specializations:
1- Master's degree in Land and Water.
2- degree in agricultural economics.
3- Master's degree in crops and pastures.
4- Master's degree in Home Economics.
By the year 1418 AH, the college’s graduate programs had subsequently developed to include the following specializations:
1- Master's degree in food science and technology.
2- Master's degree in animal production sciences.
3-Master's degree in plant protection.
4- Master's degree in agricultural engineering.
It should be noted that a complete review of the master’s programs is underway, restructuring those programs and adding new programs that are compatible with the current requirements of the labor market and scientific developments in various agricultural specializations.
In the year 1435 AH, the following programs were added:
1- Department of Agribusiness and Consumer Sciences has been approved
2- Applied Economics Program.
3- The Department of Food and Nutrition Sciences has been approved
4- Food science and technology.
5- Nutritional sciences.
In addition, the college is working on an ambitious plan to introduce doctoral programs in some important specializations, which is expected to be approved in the coming years, God willing.
Objectives
The agency has worked and is still working to increase interest in graduate studies by the college and university in order to achieve the goals of graduate studies through:
Working to encourage those working in the government and private sectors who want to pursue postgraduate studies, especially after the adoption of the internal scholarship system, is considered an important effort to enhance higher education and develop human resources in the Kingdom.
Working to develop the college’s graduate studies system in line with national development plans by paying attention to some specializations that are compatible with the requirements of these plans, such as developing water resources and rationalizing their use, environmental pollution, combating desertification, reducing the deterioration of agricultural areas, using geographic information systems, and others.
Following up on the college’s postgraduate students and its scholarship students abroad and at home until they graduate.
Steps to apply for admission
The Deanship of Graduate Studies officially announces the application dates and periods via the official platform for graduate studies.
The student must complete the conditions and documents related to the application.
Candidate students conduct a personal interview with a committee composed of faculty members from the college or department.
Upon final approval, an academic advisor is determined to follow the student’s academic career.

A form for preparing a proposed research plan for a master’s degree, complete with full signatures (written in Word).

CV of the main supervisor (supervisor and rapporteur).
CV of the assistant supervisor, if any.

Requirements for forming a judging and discussion committee
Executive letter from the department council.
A form for forming a committee to judge a scientific thesis with all signatures (written in Word).
CV of the main supervisor (supervisor and rapporteur) (written in Word).
CV of the internal examiner (written in Word).
CV of the external examiner (written in Word).
External examiner form (written in Word) + a copy of the national ID + attaching the IBAN number authenticated by the bank.
An official academic record of the student obtained from the Deanship of Graduate Studies or a copy stamped with an exact replica.
