About the college:
Study started in education college in the first semester of the year 1980/1981 , the main objective of the establishment of education college was to meet the needs of the eastern region from educational teachers to cope with the comprehensive educational in the kingdom.
The college targets:
- the college of education is working towards achieving its aims that are represented in a set of goals related to education and serving the community and scientific research, these are:
- Preparing the national competencies educationally and academically in the framework of our tolerable Islamic faith, to perform the educational tasks in the different general education levels in the kingdom.
- Preparing and qualifying the national competencies to work in fields such as educational management, educational planning and social and psychological services and so on.
- Conducting theoretical and applicable educational to raise the educational process.
- Participating in serving community through the sections and centers of the college and the various programs offered by the college
- Following up the scientific and technical developments in the fields of knowledge and enhancing the educational curriculum with it. In addition to the targets and goals of each section which are integral with the general goals of the college.

System and requirements:
The study in the college is 4 years, 132 study units for arts sections and 135 study units for scientific sections. Then student receives the bachelor degree in science or education in literature in the different specialties of the college. The college adopts the system of semesters in its study.
Graduate studies programs:
Master degree of guidance and counseling:
The program aims at preparing the cadres of specialists in the field of guidance and counseling and psychology and social care and special cases. The program aspects qualify students to hold a bachelor degree in science and education or arts and education with a (very good) degree at least. The study continues for two years at least and the student should complete 34 study hours.
Master degree in applied linguistics:
The importance of this program for the university and the community is clear in preparing the Saudi cadres qualified to fill the need of specialists in applied linguistics, teaching English language as a foreign language to cope with the educational development the kingdom witnesses. The study in this program started in the second semester of the year 1993/1994.
Master degree in Arabic language
This program aims at preparing the cadres specialized in the fields of literature, criticism or linguistics. It accepts those students who hold the bachelor degree in arts in the specialization of Arabic language. Or the graduates of literature and Arabic language graduates after meeting the requirements of studying. Study in this program continues for two years at least, and the graduate should complete a number of 42 hours.
Master degree in educational management:
Program of master in educational management in the department of educational administration aims at : participating in developing the educational management in the establishments of public education in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia and developing the administrative skills of the staff of educational management whether directors, deputies, supervisors or teachers. It also seeks the participation in developing the administrative thinking of those who join the program by providing them with the modern administrative theories and its applications, and developing the skills of those who join the program in the field of scientific research and conducting field researches that participate in solving a lot of the educational administration problems in KSA.
Diploma of Students guidance and instruction:
The college decided to apply this program starting from the university year 2000/2001. These concerning programs is supervised by both departments of education and social studies. In order to join this program, the student should hold a university degree in psychology- sociology- social services with a "good" degree at least, and should pass an interview. The study continues for a whole study year divided into two semesters: the first semester is 13 ours divided among 6 curricula; the second semester is 14 hours divided among 6 curricula. In addition to the subject of practical training practiced in the schools of the governorate of Ahsaa.
