PhD of Anatomy and Cell Biology

Definition/ Overview

The PhD program at King Faisal University focuses on providing students with the basics of scientific research and preparing graduates to academic position in higher education and research institutes. During the first four semesters, students receive the basics of both molecular and cell biology as well as advanced studies in traditional anatomical sciences such as gross anatomy, histology, embryology and / or neuroanatomy. Upon completion of the required modules, a supervisor will be selected to lead the PhD research project. The final two semesters are devoted to conduct the research project under guidance of the thesis supervisor.

Conditions of admission

Applicants should:

q Comply to the unified regulations of postgraduate studies in Saudi Universities.
q Be a Saudi national or have an official postgraduate scholarship if he/ she is non-Saudi.
q Pay the due tuition fee) Saudis and non-Saudis applicants will be charged tuition fee upon acceptance).
q Have a master's degree in veterinary medicine or human medicine, nursing, dentistry, zoology and biological sciences, or applied medical sciences from King Faisal University or any other equivalent degree from a university recognized by King Faisal University, with not less than "very good" if the certificate is based on grades.
q Score at least 5.0 in IELTS or any other equivalent English proficiency test recognized by Ministry of Education.
q Pass a personal interview
q Have a good reputation and must be physically fit.
q Well prepared for full time system of study.
q The Department may add any other conditions if necessary.
