General duties and tasks of the Security Department
Prepare a general plan to control the security system and regulate traffic within the university’s roads and gates and its external facilities (College of Arts in Salmaniya, Research and Training Station, Community College in Abqaiq, College of Sharia and Islamic Studies) and work on it during the year.
Continuing to provide security guards and services around the clock, including: -
Monitoring the entrances and exits of the university and its other units, operating the main gates after official working hours, and checking the entry and exit permits of materials in accordance with the applicable regulations.
Organizing entry, exit and traffic in residential areas for faculty members and male and female students around the clock and during official holidays
Conducting secret patrols to maintain security and control order within residential neighborhoods during official holidays and holidays to prevent any incidents of theft or vandalism in residential neighborhoods.
Maintaining the safety of children, monitoring their movements in the residential neighborhood, and contributing to finding those missing within the neighborhood and returning them to their families as quickly as possible.
Receiving emergency reports on the number 9900 and coordinating with the concerned departments to provide the necessary services.
Guarding and inspecting buildings after employees leave, ensuring that all offices, warehouses, and laboratories are closed, and notifying the entity in the event of any deficiencies that disturb security in the building.
Conducting security patrols to monitor roads and facilities and monitor and address suspicious movements.
Auditing and matching materials attached to materials exit permits at the main gates of the university, external colleges, and the research station

Implementing security and safety plans, systems and regulations in all female students’ departments and buildings.

General objective: Organizing vehicle movement and controlling the traffic system, especially during peak times.
Preparing a plan for the official processions of university visitors, including princes and ministers, and organizing movement within the university’s roads and during the holding of public and private events and celebrations that are accompanied by the presence of large numbers of participants.
Reviewing signs and regulatory boards on roads and parking lots, following up on their maintenance, and replacing damaged ones.
Directing traffic accidents that occur within the university in coordination with the relevant authorities.
Reporting observations and water leaks that are monitored from time to time at the university and its external colleges.
Monitoring stray animals and coordinating with the competent authority in Al-Ahsa Municipality to deal with them in accordance with regulations.
Monitoring violating vehicles, reporting their locations, and completing the necessary procedures according to the university’s system.

Establishing the necessary measures, procedures and plans to prevent accidents or reduce their occurrence to the minimum possible extent.
Implementing preventive works and taking the necessary precautions to confront disasters and crises before they occur based on the guidance and instructions of the General Administration of Civil Defense and the relevant security authorities.
Counting emergency incidents and studying them to determine their causes and working to prevent them from recurring.
Spreading awareness and preventive education among university employees.
Applying international quality standards for safety and the instructions of the General Administration of Civil Defense.
Duties and tasks of the units: -
Networks and fire systems unit
Preparing statistical reports (available, needed, damaged) on safety means and tools in buildings, such as (manual fire extinguishers - extinguishing systems - early warning systems - first aid kits - information signs - building plans) and updating them on an ongoing basis.
Determine the actual need for safety tools and equipment and submit them to the general supervisor of the department to work on securing them.
Coordinating with the maintenance contractor to inspect and maintain manual fire extinguishers in all university buildings on the specified dates, while updating inspection data on a regular basis.
Supervising the installation and preparation of safety tools and equipment.
Ensuring the safety of the sites of events and activities held at the university and equipping them with the necessary safety requirements in proportion to the numbers participating, whether from inside or outside the university, as well as coordinating with the relevant security authorities if necessary.
Preparing statistical programs for emergency situations and developing proposals to prevent them from recurring.

Building and Facilities Safety Unit
Conducting periodic, scheduled field tours that include all the university’s buildings, facilities and departments, through which all observations that could compromise the safety of lives and property are monitored and recorded in pictorial technical reports (field visit report form) that are submitted to the head of the safety department to complete what is necessary to correct them. The visit includes all parts of the building starting from From the rooftops to the basement, passing through offices, electrical rooms, classrooms, laboratories, stairs, emergency exits, and corridors.
Follow up on the operation of the safety systems and mechanisms available in buildings and facilities, such as (early warning networks - self-extinguishing systems - fire extinguishers - backup electricity generators...) and coordinate with the concerned authorities to complete the necessary maintenance work for them to ensure their continuity of operation with the desired efficiency.
Implementing civil defense regulations and instructions related to protecting and securing facilities.
Ensure that escape routes and emergency exits are safe and free of any obstacles to accommodate the number of students required to be evacuated quickly in emergency situations.
Ensuring the implementation of safety conditions and rules to protect university employees and workers during the implementation of new works and projects within the university.
Inspect building roofs, electrical rooms, and elevators to ensure the availability of guidelines, preventive maintenance schedules, and the application of safety standards while working.
Identify sources of danger on roads and public facilities and work to address them in coordination with the concerned departments and in accordance with international safety principles and civil defense requirements.

Emergency unit
Receiving emergency reports from the operations and control room, handling accidents and emergency situations that occur at the university, and following them up until the event ends completely.
Directing building safety committees and providing the necessary instructions to rescue the injured and evacuate the building whenever necessary.
Monitoring emergency situations in technical reports explaining how the accident occurred, its causes, the resulting loss of life, injuries, or material losses, and any deficiencies that may exist in capabilities or in implementing requirements, and proposing solutions and procedures required to prevent the recurrence of such an accident in the future.
Coordinating with the concerned departments to correct the situation and remove the damage resulting from emergency incidents.
Investigating any cases or incidents assigned to the administration.

Awareness and training unit
Coordinating with safety committees in colleges and departments to develop evacuation plans for buildings and write them down in the designated form (evacuation plan form).
Proposing an annual schedule for implementing the assumptions of evacuation plans for buildings according to human density and building uses, and following up on their implementation after the schedule is approved.
Evaluating evacuation plans (evacuation plan evaluation form) and working to overcome the obstacles that cause rapid evacuation of buildings in emergency situations.
Spreading preventive awareness and safety principles among university employees in particular and members of society in general through preparing and implementing training programs, providing awareness lectures, and participating in exhibitions, seminars and workshops that take place inside or outside the university such as (University and Society Exhibition - International Civil Defense Day - Gulf Traffic Week... ).
Carrying out the necessary preparatory work to implement educational programs and training courses.
Ensuring the safety of the sites of events and activities held at the university and equipping them with the necessary safety requirements in proportion to the numbers participating, whether from inside or outside the university, as well as coordinating with the relevant security authorities if necessary.
