About the Center :
    The WSC was established in 1982, as a result of the University scientific council recommendation. Its ultimate goal was to be transformed into a Specialized Institute.
     

    The vision :

      Provide leadership in research for developing sustainable and adaptive integrated water resources, toward integration of research information into Decision Support System for resource conservation and water quality at local, regional, and international levels.

    The mission :

      1. To plan, promote, conduct, and administer water related research.
      2. To educate and train scientists, engineers, and other professionals through participation in research and outreach projects.
      3. To disseminate information on water related issues through technical publications, newsletters, and reports, as well as through sponsorship of seminars, workshops, conferences, and other outreach and educational activities.


    GOALS OF THE CENTER :

      1- Conduct research and studies on surface and ground water as well as waste and saline water
      2- Coordinate specific research programs, which assist in solving water problems in the Kingdom and its neighboring countries.
      3- Participate in setting national plans for efficient water uses by agriculture, municipal and industry.
      4- Provide scientific consultations on water issues to those countries and construct information banking system for water studies.
      5- The center undergoes outstanding training programs of various specialized fields of water studies for students, research assistants and technicians.
      6- The center held and participates in scientific workshops, short-courses and conferences to gain the modern technology of water management and its conservation.
