1.Faculty Development:
The department will support faculty members with specific needs for their improvement to instruct, guide, train, facilitate and mentor to enhance student's learning and quality of patient's care.
2.Faculty Recruitment:
The department will cater the faculty needs of various departments according to the curricular demand.
3.Innovative Teaching and Learning Methodologies:
Department will look after the emerging teaching and learning methodologies and propose various new technological innovations.
4.Continuing Dental Educational (CDE) Programs:
The department will prepare Calendar of CDE activities that will include the seminars, workshops, conferences as well as hands on practice sessions.
In compliance of the requirements for Saudi Commission of health specialties. CDE activities will focus on following areas:
a. Academic development
b. Presentation and lecturing skills, small group teaching
c. Using technology in teaching
d. Evaluation and effective feedback
e. Assessment tools, Blue printing, MCQ construction,
i. Item analysis, Standard setting
j. Curriculum development
k. Professionalism and Educational research
5.Dental Educational Research and Publications:
The Department will promote educational research and publication support.
