About the Department

Department of Preventive Dental Sciences is comprised of four divisions:

1. Division of Dental Public Health,

2. Division of Orthodontics,

3.Division of Periodontics, and Division of Pedodontics. All divisions are concerned with specialized training of BDS students to learn clinical skills in the specialties of periodontics, orthodontics, and pedodontics.

Students are also given field training in the specialty of dental public health, where students are engaged with public to educate them in imroving their oral health care.

Objectives

1. To fulfil community and public health responsibilities in improving their oral health.

2. To provide comprehensive diagnostic, treatment options to patients suffering from oral/dental diseases.

3. To extend advance dental management of oral/dental problems using latest technology.
