Dean's Message

Dr. Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al-Kaltham

All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the worlds, and peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and companions.

Since the unification of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by its founder, King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud (may Allah have mercy on him), religious education has been prioritized as a fundamental pillar of knowledge that our leadership has committed to instilling in the youth. This education is rooted in the Holy Quran, the purified Sunnah, and the understanding of the righteous predecessors (may Allah have mercy on them). The esteemed successors have continued this noble academic journey by establishing schools and universities, enriching them with beneficial knowledge and noble values. Knowledge has flourished across the nation—north, south, east, west, and within its heart and Najd—making education accessible to all seekers and beneficiaries.

Al-Ahsa has received a significant share of this distinguished scientific contribution, marked by the royal decree No. (6366) issued on 27/3/1401 AH, which established the College of Sharia and Islamic Studies in Al-Ahsa under the umbrella of Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University. Over the decades, the college has enjoyed a blessed journey characterized by unique academic development and substantial intellectual output, producing judges, notaries, lawyers, consultants, mosque imams and preachers, teachers, educators, readers, intellectuals, researchers, university professors, and specialists in various fields including administration, geography, computer science, English language, and law.

On 10/3/1442 AH, a decision was made by the Council of Universities Affairs to affiliate the college with King Faisal University. This affiliation represents a pivotal moment for the college, opening avenues for leadership in specialized religious disciplines within the esteemed environment of King Faisal University. This transition has enabled the college to focus more intently on the sciences of Sharia, the fundamentals of religion, and Islamic studies, setting forth an ambitious intellectual and research vision aimed at enhancing religious scholarly capacities both nationally and globally. The college aspires to fulfill its noble mission of preparing distinguished competencies in religious sciences that blend tradition with modernity, enriching knowledge and addressing the evolving needs of society through rigorous scientific research and fruitful community partnerships.

In its pursuit of leadership, the college aims to develop and innovate academic programs that meet labor market needs and future development requirements, adhering to quality standards and academic accreditation. It seeks to enhance students' cognitive and skill-based capacities to achieve national and global leadership, employing a research framework that enriches knowledge in religious studies to address contemporary developments. The college also aims to strengthen cooperation with local community institutions to achieve common national goals while fostering innovation and excellence to create a creative administrative, educational, and research environment.

A careful examination of the fields of national contribution reveals the clear impact that our college has made. This is a blessing from Allah and the result of continuous generous support from our leaders (may Allah preserve them) in our blessed country, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The significant attention the college receives from the esteemed President of the University (may Allah guide him) and his distinguished team motivates us to work diligently and responsibly to achieve the university's strategic goals, built upon a vision of "a dynamic and stimulating environment for enriching future knowledge and developing competitive human capacities."

The College of Sharia and Islamic Studies in Al-Ahsa has achieved, and inshaallah will continue to achieve, the aspirations of our leaders (may Allah preserve them) and the loyal people of the Kingdom by graduating ambitious cohorts of its faithful sons and daughters, who will return to their faith with honor in serving and nurturing its sciences through learning and teaching, and to their homeland with contributions and development.

The college would not have attained its esteemed position among religious colleges in the Islamic world without the blessing of Allah and the genuine scholarly efforts of esteemed professors who selflessly dedicate their knowledge and expertise to their students.

The college comprises a collaborative and harmonious administrative team that works together to achieve the college's mission and goals through cooperation and integration.

In this brief introductory message for our college's page on our flourishing university website, I express my profound gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and to His Royal Highness, the Crown Prince, Prince Mohammed bin Salman (may Allah preserve them) for their significant support and care for higher education. I also extend my thanks to His Royal Highness, the Governor of the Eastern Province, Prince Saud bin Nayef, and to His Royal Highness, the Governor of Al-Ahsa, Prince Saud bin Talal bin Badr for their support and generous patronage. Additionally, I express my gratitude to the Minister of Education and to the President of King Faisal University for their service to knowledge and its community.

Finally, I extend my appreciation to my colleagues, the professors of the college, its staff, and its students who contribute with me to elevate this esteemed institution through their dedication, research, success, excellence, and service to their religion, homeland, and nation.

We ask Allah to grant us His assistance, guidance, and success, to preserve our country's dignity, majesty, security, and faith, to guide our leaders in righteousness, and to utilize us in ways that please Him. May peace and blessings be upon the bearer of glad tidings, the warner, the illuminating lamp, and upon his family and companions.
