Manal Hessien carries out research in inorganic materials chemistry. Her research is focused on the synthesis of nanostructured metal oxides, composites and porous materials. Her main domain of research is integrating various synthesis methods as hydrothermal method, sol-gel method, microwave-assisted hydrothermal method, green synthesis, and sonochemical method. She is, in particular, interested in characterization techniques such as XPS, SEM, TEM, XRD and SAXS. She applied nanostructured materials in water remediation and antibacterial activity.
