First: the director of the center:

He runs the center technically administratively and financially and be accountable to the Governing Council and the University and the Ministry of Higher Education for the center. He consults the Vice President for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research. His functions include:

1. Overseeing the accomplishment of the objectives of the Centre long-and short-term and implementation of strategic plans and research priorities established and approved by the Board of Directors (as the Board of Directors consists of a group of specialists with expertise in the fields of date palms and dates from the inside and outside Saudi Arabia)

2.    Distribution of research activities to researchers from inside and outside the center and follow-up

3.    Work to bring financial support to the Centre

4.    Supervising the implementation of the plan for the workshops and courses conducted by the Centre in coordination with researchers at the Centre

5.    Cooperation with the competent authorities in the area of date palms and dates within and outside the Kingdom

6.    Supervision of the Center's participation in scientific seminars specializing in the field of the Date Palm
