Highway Engineering laboratory at the department of Civil Engineering is equipped with state of the art research equipment. The laboratory is equipped to conduct tests on aggregate characterization, asphalt binder and mixture characterization. The lab is capable of conducting tests to evaluate the performance of asphalt binder and mixture for fatigue and permanent deformation (rutting) parameters as well as low temperature characteristics. The equipment can also be utilized to evaluate the performance on in-service pavements. Moreover, the lab has recently installed AAHSTO pavement design software for education purpose.
