Overview

The Department of Sharia was established alongside the founding of the College of Sharia and Islamic Studies in Al-Ahsa, which is affiliated with Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University, by Royal Decree No. (6366), issued on the 27th of Rabi' Al-Awwal in the year 1401 AH.

In the academic year 1432 AH / 1433 AH, regular classes for female students in the Department of Sharia were inaugurated.

In the year 1442 AH, the University Affairs Council made Decision No. (10/3/1442) approving the incorporation of the College of Sharia and Islamic Studies into King Faisal University.


Vision

The Sharia program combines solid scientific foundations with preparation for contribution and work (Foundation and Qualification).

Mission

To qualify distinguished specialists in Sharia sciences and legal systems who possess high knowledge and skills in scientific research, preparing them for the job market in the fields of Sharia, legal systems, education, guidance, and community service through specialized consultations.

Goals

·         Preparing Distinguished Specialists: To train distinguished specialists in Sharia sciences who can contribute in accordance with local and international developments.

·         Developing Qualified Competencies: To equip specialized competencies in the fields of judiciary, fatwa (Islamic jurisprudence), education, guidance, and consultations.

·         Supplying the Community: To provide the community with specialists in the fields of judiciary, fatwa, legal systems, law, education, guidance, and specialized consultations.

·         Training Researchers: To prepare researchers in Sharia and legal systems who possess critical thinking skills, capable of addressing contemporary issues and serving the community.

·         Qualifying Influential Cadres: To qualify personnel who contribute to impacting and enriching the global cultural product with the values and teachings of Islam.
