This department represents the first in media studies in the Eastern Region. It commenced its academic programs in 1433 AH for both male and female students. Currently, it remains the sole available department in the Eastern Region for students aspiring to study media, serving the needs of the region for professionals in various media-related fields. The department's goal is to graduate generations of media professionals capable of practicing journalism proficiently, fulfilling the Eastern Region's demand for specialized media experts, contributing to the Saudi media system, achieving regional and global breakthroughs in the communication and media landscape, and competing on global and Arab levels.
