The PYD English program uses the North Star series (4th edition), developed by Pearson Longman. The first level is given to beginners, who should gradually reach the fourth level, designated upper intermediate. Each level provides students and teachers with a fully integrated approach that teaches each of the four skills based on two textbooks. More information on the North Star Series is available at:

The PYD English Department uses a standardized teaching system that assures that all students in the same module are taught the same syllabus. All teachers adhere to a unified unit plan that contains reading passages, grammar points, writing and speaking test topics, a pacing guide, and class learning objectives. They follow the same weekly plan for tests and assignments, as well.
