Welcome to
the Department of Mechanical Engineering at King Faisal University, established
in 1430 AH (2009 AD). It is currently one of the leading and largest
departments within the college in terms of student and faculty numbers. The
department offers a Bachelor's program in Mechanical Engineering, accredited
internationally by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology
(ABET). Our program focuses on equipping students with the knowledge and skills
necessary to tackle future challenges. The department covers a wide range of
specializations, including Thermal Systems, Solid Mechanics, Materials Science,
Engineering Design and Simulation, Mechatronics, Robotics, Smart Mechanical
Systems, Machine Design, and Manufacturing. To further enhance our role in
developing engineering capabilities, we launched the Master’s program in
Mechanical Engineering in Fall 2023, designed to prepare highly skilled
graduates who contribute to the advancement of local and international
industries.
The
department values its distinguished faculty members, who hold prestigious
academic qualifications from leading universities worldwide. The department
remains committed to preparing engineers who can support the Kingdom of Saudi
Arabia’s goals, particularly in alignment with Vision 2030. Our faculty members
conduct research that addresses critical issues and reflects the university's
focus on areas such as food security and environmental sustainability,
enhancing the university’s reputation both locally and internationally.
