College of Applied Studies and Community Service
The College of Applied Studies and Community Service was established under the Higher Education Council decision no. (15/19/1421) in its nineteenth session, that was held on 10.11.1421 to amend the name of the (University Center for Community Service and Continuous Education, at King Faisal University) to the College of Applied Studies and Community Service. The decision was culminated with the consent of the President of the Council of Higher Education and Universities with guidance No. 86 / M dated 26.2.1422 H. Also, the headquarter of the Faculty of Applied Studies and Community Service at AL-Ahsa and have a branch in Dammam.
Objectives
1. Providing educational opportunities for those who don’t apply to the conditions of universities admission.
2. Accommodating the largest number of national staff to study the required specialties for the labor market.
3. Contributing in spreading the cultural and educational awareness by expanding the base of university education
Services that are Provided by The College Academic programs
A specialized academic programs in the form of diploma below the bachelor
degree to meet labor market's needs or qualify the student for the admission to the university and Higher Diploma (post-bachelor's).
Training Programs and Continuous Education
These programs are offered in the form of lectures, meetings , workshops, training courses and continuous education and other for all individuals and institutions of the society . The objective of these programs is to renew and develop the skills and previous experience or to acquire new knowledge and new skills for specialized or unspecialized categories.
Rehabilitation Program for Administrative Sciences
The college of Applied Studies and Community Service plays a vital role in opening new opportunities for community members to increase their educational university and within this context, emphasizing the idea of rehabilitation programs, which opens prospects for a large number of females who didn't complete their university education, where this program includes four semesters of the equivalent levels of the first even Fourth in the study plan for Undergraduate at the Administrative Sciences and Planning college that is taught currently in the scientific sections:
A - Diploma in Computer and Information Systems:
The program covers (Diploma in Computer Information Systems Management), the basic needs to give high school science students the scientific and occupational skills that are required in computer and management information systems field , and to qualify them for employment in the public and private sectors with sufficient knowledge of the changes and recent developments in this specialty.
This program seeks to provide educational and training opportunities for students of secondary school graduates and the rehabilitation of students to work in the areas of accounting.
