Department of Agricultural Technology
-About the department
The Department of Agricultural Biotechnology focuses on teaching the basic sciences related to cell and tissue culture, molecular genetics, and gene modification, in addition to studying the biosynthesis of proteins and the sequence of amino and nuclear acids, which aims to develop modern technologies in order to improve agricultural production and increase the efficiency of food sources to contribute to securing... Global food, taking into account environmental safety standards and ethical and social responsibilities.
The study plan in this specialization is designed to spread new fields that are compatible with the needs of development and the labor market, keeping pace with the great scientific progress in the field of agricultural sciences, which allows students and researchers to benefit from the science of biotechnology.
The basic curriculum for these fields focuses on theoretical and applied lessons that contribute to finding appropriate solutions to local and regional agricultural problems. It also contributes to increasing the economic returns of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in particular and regional agricultural trade in general, taking into account reducing harmful impacts on the environment.
